Wahyiraso Herbal Hospital has officially opened its doors in a colourful ceremony attended by traditional rulers, queen mothers, traditional medicine practitioners, religious leaders, and invited guests. The occasion marked another significant milestone in the advancement of traditional medicine and healthcare delivery in Ghana.

Delivering the keynote address as the Special Guest of Honour, Okogyeabibiduro Nana Kwadwo Obiri, Distinguished Ambassador of Traditional Medicine, congratulated Dr. Helena Anknah and the management of Wahyiraso Herbal Hospital for establishing a modern herbal healthcare facility that demonstrates the growing professionalism of Ghana's traditional medicine sector.

He described the hospital as a shining example of how traditional medicine practitioners can combine indigenous knowledge with modern healthcare standards to provide quality, safe, and accessible healthcare services to the public. He noted that the establishment of such facilities strengthens public confidence in herbal medicine and contributes significantly to Ghana's healthcare system.

During his address, Nana Kwadwo Obiri expressed appreciation to the Government of Ghana for its continued support for traditional medicine through regulation, research, education, and the integration of traditional medicine into the national healthcare system. He urged government to continue investing in policies and programmes that will further develop the sector.

Speaking in his capacity as the Distinguished Ambassador of Traditional Medicine, he made a passionate appeal to all traditional medicine practitioners across Ghana to emulate the example set by Wahyiraso Herbal Hospital by investing in clean, modern, well-equipped, and patient-friendly herbal hospitals and clinics. According to him, improving healthcare facilities will enhance the image of traditional medicine and strengthen public trust in the profession.

He also renewed his call on the Government of Ghana, the Ghana Standards Authority, the Food and Drugs Authority, and the Traditional Medicine Practice Council to collaborate in establishing a single national standard for herbal medicine development and regulation. He explained that a harmonised national standard would improve product quality, strengthen regulatory consistency, promote research, facilitate international trade, and eliminate conflicting regulatory practices within the industry.

The ceremony was graced by several distinguished traditional authorities, including Gbawe Hemaa Naa Yaniede II, Nene Asenda I, Nana Afrakoma III, Nana Kantipo II, Naa Asanda Opedweni I, and Naa Gamu of Teshie Tebibiano, whose presence underscored the important role of traditional leadership in promoting healthcare and preserving Ghana's cultural heritage.

The event concluded with congratulations to Dr. Helena Anknah, the management, and staff of Wahyiraso Herbal Hospital, with prayers for the hospital's continued growth and success in providing quality herbal healthcare to the people of Kasoa and Ghana at large.
